SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. —

A Bullitt County student was hit by a vehicle in front of a school on a busy highway Monday morning.

Shepherdsville Police said the collision happened around 7:20 a.m. in front of Roby Elementary on Highway 44.

According to officials, a 16-year-old girl was attempting to cross four lanes of traffic when she was hit.

Police said she is a student at Bullitt Central High School.

She was conscious when transported from the scene by Bullitt County EMS, and officials say she is currently in stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle stopped immediately to help, police said. No criminal charges are pending.
