A teenager had his mum's car impounded after he was allegedly busted travelling at more than twice the speed limit in Melbourne yesterday.
Highway Patrol officers spotted a Mitsubishi allegedly travelling at 128km/hr in a 60km/hr residential area at about 11.45am yesterday.
They pulled over the P-plater and discovered he was driving his mother's car.
Police impounded the vehicle, which will cost the man $999.52 to reclaim in 30 days.
The Craigieburn man will also be charged on summons with traffic offences.
