KENT COUNTY, MI — Byron Center Public Schools is asking voters to approve a $110 million bond request on Nov. 4 that would renovate classrooms and arts spaces, replace aging infrastructure, and create a new athletic stadium at the growing district.
The request would not generate any new taxes for district residents, said Superintendent Kevin Macina.
The district would make annual payments on the bond over a 30-year period using existing tax revenue.
“The proposal addresses capacity challenges that we have with academic spaces, some of our art programs, and some of our athletic facilities,” he said. “It also invests in infrastructure, things like safety, security, technology and transportation.
