WAYNESVILLE, Ohio —

Two women were taken to the hospital after a shooting at an intersection in Wayne Township.

The shooting was reported at the intersection of Ferry and Lytle roads around 12:53 p.m. Advertisement

According to the Warren County Sheriff, two women were shot and taken to the hospital. They are in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lt. Shaun Embleton with the Warren County Sheriff's Office said a person of interest has been detained and the scene has been secured.

The entire intersection remains shut down while police investigate.

Nearby schools entered a soft lockdown as police investigated. The lockdown has since been lifted.

At this time, it's unclear what led up to the shooting.
