Michigan running back Justice Haynes returned to the lineup on Saturday after a one-game absence and immediately provided a boost for the Wolverines’ offense.
The Alabama transfer missed the previous game because of injury but didn’t miss a beat against Michigan State, rushing for 152 yards and two touchdowns on a season-high 26 carries in a 31-20 road win.
“Haynes came back and he was the workhorse back,” MLive’s Aaron McMann said on the latest “Wolverine Confidential” podcast. “He got the first touches of the game, he had the big runs, he had the touchdowns. Another good game for him.”
Michigan (6-2, 4-1 Big Ten) only led 10-7 at halftime but turned to Haynes to give it a spark to begin the third quarter.
He rushed on five of seven plays on the 71-yard touchdown drive and totaled 64
