The Washoe County School Board will hear on Tuesday that Joe Ernst is an effective superintendent who scored higher than most first-year leaders in his evaluation.
Board President Beth Smith and Tom Alsbury of Balanced Governance Solutions, which did Ernst's evaluation, will present the findings to the board at the meeting. It begins at 2 p.m. at the administration office, 435 E. Ninth St. RGJ.com will carry a livestream of the meeting.
If the board approves Ernst's evaluation, he would receive at least a 2% raise, but the board could vote on a higher amount. The former district teacher, principal and administrator was hired in July 2024 with a base salary of $280,000.
