ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A large field fire in west Rockford prompted a response from firefighters from multiple surrounding area departments on Monday afternoon.

Crews were called to stage at Thurgood Marshall Elementary, at 4704 N. Rockton, to combat the fire in the 2600 block of Elmwood Road.
