Hundreds of families lined up around Bones Hooks Park on Saturday, Oct. 25, for Shi Lee’s 10th annual Trunk or Treat and winter coat giveaway — a North Heights tradition that’s become one of Amarillo’s most anticipated fall events.

Shi Lee’s BBQ and Soul Food owner Tremaine Brown organized the community celebration, which began at 3 p.m. and filled the park with families in costume, volunteers, and rows of racks lined with brand-new coats. The annual event, which started as a simple Halloween trunk or treat, now provides warmth and care for hundreds of children across the city.
