EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — They don't call Jeff Shabo the "Silverback Gorilla" for nothing.

The 62-year-old butcher turned boxer spends most of his time training at Gundy's Gym in Central Falls. His goal is to obtain his professional boxing license and get back into the ring.

Despite a hip replacement, fractured ribs and other past injuries from both inside and outside the ring, Shabo is determined to prove age is just a number.

In this week’s Street Stories Unpaved, hosts Johnny Villella and Mike Montecalvo sat down with Shabo to see how his training is going and what his plans are for the future.
