A mum who was quoted a whopping £35,000 for a garden room decided to do the job herself, and managed to save herself £18,000 in the process.

Louise Peer, 47, had long dreamed of having her own stylish space to work, relax and entertain in.

But after a 'nightmare' experience with rogue builders during a previous home renovation, Louise swore she’d never hire professionals again.

Out of interest, she decided to get a quote from one builder who revealed it would cost a staggering £35,000.
