Seven years after his death, John Asher is the latest to receive a "Hometown Hero" banner from the Greater Louisville Pride Foundation during an unveiling ceremony at the Presentation Academy on South Fourth Street Oct. 27.
Asher, the former vice president of racing communications at Churchill Downs , died in 2018. Officials said his banner was placed on a tower at Presentation Academy both because it's where his daughters attended high school, but also because the tower was designed by the same architect firm that designed the twin spires at Churchill Downs.
