Digital message board maintenance on two interstates in two counties could cause short-term traffic delays.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said maintenance will be performed from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, on northbound Interstate 83 just north of exit 36 (Fishing Creek) in York County.
Work also will take place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, on westbound Interstate 78 just west of exit 10 (Route 645/Frystown) in Berks County.
There will be a right lane and right shoulder closure at both locations during the work hours.
PennDOT said the work is part of a $5.5 million project to maintain Intelligent Transportation System equipment across PennDOT Districts 4, 5, and 8. The project is expected to be completed by July 2, 2027.
