The night manager at the Laugh Factory comedy club in Chicago’s Lake View neighborhood has been charged with assault after a confrontation with Border Patrol agents last week.

According to court documents, Nathan Griffin has been charged with “forcibly assaulting, impeding and interfering” with a Border Patrol agent after the incident unfolded outside the comedy venue on Friday morning.

In the complaint, federal prosecutors said agents with Border Patrol were in an unmarked vehicle near the intersection of North Broadway and West Belmont just after 9 a.m. Friday. The complaint says agents were in the area looking for a body-worn camera that had been dropped in a previous day’s immigration enforcement arrest.
