PHOENIX (KVOA) - The Arizona State Board of Education has delayed a significant vote regarding compliance with a Trump administration executive order on education policies. The decision, which was expected to happen today, has been postponed until December.
State Superintendent Tom Horne expressed his disagreement with the board's decision to delay the vote.
Horne said not following the order could potentially cost Arizona an estimated $866 million in federal education funds. The order aims to remove Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) language from state teaching standards and policies.
