A firefighter in Prince George's County, Maryland, is accused of having and sharing sexually explicit photos and videos of children.

Joshua Murphy, 35, was arrested and charged with 16 counts of possession and distribution of child sex abuse, according to court documents.

Some of the alleged explicit activity took place at the firehouse where Murphy worked at 6330 Riggs Road in Hyattsville, prosecutors said.

One of the victims is a family member of Murphy's, according to court documents.

Police began investigating Murphy after representatives from the messaging app Kik submitted a tip about an account uploading pornographic images.

Investigators linked the account in question to Murphy, court documents said.
