King Charles has been confronted by a protester over Prince Andrew’s ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during a visit to Lichfield Cathedral on Monday.
The man shouted questions at the monarch, asking how long he had known about his brother’s association with Epstein and whether he had urged police to “cover up” for Andrew.
His remarks were quickly drowned out by supporters of the King, including one woman who told the man to “shut up”, and others who chanted “three cheers for the King”.
Prince Andrew’s relationship with Epstein has come under renewed scrutiny in recent weeks. Andrew, who gave up his remaining royal titles earlier this month, has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
