DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The Scott County Sheriff’s Office says one of their K-9 officers has died.

In a Facebook post , the sheriff’s office said that K-9 Denali died due to an illness.

The sheriff’s office said in part:

The office and her handler is grief stricken and saddened by this sudden loss.

We are deeply sorry for her handler, Sgt. Ahrens, as he and the doctors had to make this decision.

K9 Denali will be missed dearly.
