A multi-plex infill building under construction in the Belgravia neighbourhood went up in flames late Sunday night.
In the lock-up stage of construction, the building at 11618 77 Ave. was nearing completion with doors, windows and a shingled roof before the blaze was reported to Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) at 11:21 p.m. Sunday.
“Fire crews arrived on scene four minutes later to a fire at the back of a home under construction with neighbouring units at risk, resulting in a second-alarm fire being called to bring in additional units for support,” said EFRS in a Monday statement. “The fire was brought under control at 12:37 a.m. and there were no reported injuries.”
