A 55-year-old Edmonton man has died following an assault in central Edmonton, and an Edmonton man has been charged.

Police are investigating the death of Arvi Singh Sagoo.

On Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., police were called to an assault that took place near 109 Street and 100 Avenue.

“Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious 55-year-old man. The man was treated and transported to hospital by emergency medical services with life-threatening injuries,” said a release from the Edmonton Police Service.

“The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) homicide unit continues to investigate, and additional charges related to Sagoo’s death are pending,” the release said.

Kyle Papin, 40, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Sagoo succumbed to his injuries last Friday.
