WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is promising an appeal "very soon" of President Trump's denial of FEMA public sector aid to Wisconsin.

Wisconsin had filed the request for federal help after the devastating flood in August, but while assistance to individual applicants has been approved, the appeal for public aid was rejected last week.

Monday, the governor was asked about his plan to appeal.

"It's gonna happen very soon, " Evers said. "It seems like there's no reason in the world why that was turned down, and so we're gonna keep fighting that."

When asked why he thinks the request was denied, Gov. Evers said, "I don't know. I mean it is true that recent ones that had Democratic governors didn't get it, but I'm not gonna assume that's the case. I'm just assum
