NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department has arrested a man on several charges after an alleged domestic assault incident led to a brief standoff with officers.
Corey Williams, 51, is charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, pointing and presenting a firearm, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, trafficking cocaine, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and manufacturing/possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute, according to jail records.
Officers responded to a home on Eagle Lake Road around 3:30 a.m. after a woman reported that Williams, her husband, had assaulted her and was armed with a gun.
When officers attempted a traffic stop on him as he tried to leave the home, police said he reversed
