MONTEGO BAY, Jamacia (KLTV) - Longview newlyweds who were enjoying their honeymoon in Jamaica are now bracing for impact as Hurricane Melissa takes aim at the island, threatening to become the worst storm in the country’s history.
The newlyweds, Kasydee and Hunter Bishop are in Montego Bay, putting their wedding vows to the test just one week after saying “I do.” The couple arrived for their honeymoon right before evacuation announcements came for Hurricane Melissa.
“It was wonderful, it was great. We spent the next couple of days spending time with family who traveled [for the wedding], and then we headed straight here. And just had no idea this was in the plans,” Hunter Bishop said.
Hurricane Melissa is expected to be the strongest hurricane to hit Jamaica since records begin in 1851.
