YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - Another of Youngstown's city parks has been renovated and is now open for use. The latest is on the West Side.

It's called the Mahoning Valley Sanitary District Park (MVSD) and is located at the corner of Connecticut and North Dunlap Avenues.

The ribbon-cutting for the park took place Monday. It's one of 17 park properties that has been or will be renovated in Youngstown.

City Council decided to use $10.5 million of its American Rescue Plan money to fix up the parks. Of the 17 targeted, the MVSD park is the ninth one to be renovated.

Among those where the renovations are complete are Lynn Park and Falls Park on the South Side and Kirkmere Park, adjacent to Kirkmere School.

The city is also in the process of redoing Bortz Field and will soon begin work on Ipes
