MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Committee to Recall Mayor Friday Ellis today announced the official recall effort for Mayor Friday Ellis.

The citizen-led committee filed the necessary paperwork and is planning public petition campaigns to place a recall on the ballot in accordance with Louisiana law.

Registered voters who live within the city limits and are eligible may sign once.

Next steps include continuing volunteer recruitment, hosting public information sessions, and maintaining ongoing outreach to ensure residents understand the process and how to participate.

“This is about accountability and giving Monroe residents a direct voice in the future of our city,” said Edith Hudson, Chair, in a press release.
