CHICAGO — A man whose estranged wife was found dead in his condo building's stairwell has now been charged with her murder.
According to court records, Adam Beckerink has been charged with first degree murder in the death of Caitlin Tracey.
Tracey was found dead in October 2024. Her body was discovered at the bottom of a stairwell in her husband’s building on the 1200 block of South Prairie Avenue in the South Loop. Her foot had also been severed.
A copy of a felony complaint obtained by WGN News alleges Beckerink threw Tracey over the railing of the 24th floor of the east stairwell of 1201 South Prairie Avenue on October 25, 2024.
Court records show a warrant for Beckerink’s arrest has been issued.
