LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – An herbicide that was sold on its effectiveness to get rid of an invasive plant species and quickly dissipate, stirred controversy last year in Lake George. On Monday, researchers said they’re still finding traces of that herbicide, ProcellaCOR.

Many said it would kill the invasive species – Eurasian watermilfoil – and dissipate within days. However, researchers from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Lake George Association, and Paul Smith’s College analyzed samples from the environment and said they’re still finding traces of it, even though it was applied in June 2024.
