SPRING BRANCH, Texas — A tornado touched down and ripped through the Hill Country Friday night.

The National Weather Service confirmed that EF-1 winds did all the damage, along with straight-line winds and heavy rain, that tore through just north of Canyon Lake.

Out in Spring Branch, a local brewery had to shut down after that tornado made its way through.

That tornado ripped through Star Republic Brewery, and the employees are afraid of not being able to open for the next few weeks, and they’re unsure what will happen come winter.

“We’re no strangers to storms and bad times," assistant brewer at Star Republic Brewry in Spring Branch, Bolten Leafa said.

Already washed out by the July Fourth floods, a tornado is not what Leafa needed.
