Ryder yearned for the warmth of a family to call his own.

That dream kept him going through the hardest days as he roamed the streets of California searching for scraps of food to survive.

When rescuers finally found him and brought him to a shelter, he was weak, thin, and completely worn out from life on the streets.

With nutritious meals, medical care, and kindness from the staff, Ryder began to regain his strength. For the first time in a long while, he started to believe that someone out there might truly love him.

Finding Hope At The Shelter

Ryder’s road to safety wasn’t an easy one. After spending time in several different shelters, he eventually arrived at The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc , a rescue based in Inglewood, California.
