ROCHESTER, Minn. - October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Some of the biggest focuses of this month include the importance of early detection and preventative care. The American Cancer Society reports that more than 300,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the United States.

The purpose of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to encourage early testing, which can be a life-saving measure for many women.
