SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — As the government shutdown nears almost a month, many Iowa and Nebraska Community Action programs are still staying funded, except for a couple.
Community Action organizations said they've received plenty of calls since the government shutdown began, with people worried about whether certain programs are still operational.
"We are running on 2025 funding. We are really trying to stay on top of all the updates, and at this point, we're running normal as usual," said Amy Munderloh, the executive director of Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership.
NENCAP's programs, like WIC and Head Start, already have funding allocated to them by the federal government and don't expire until next year. This is the case for many programs at the Community Action Agency of
