“We do not wish to deepen division. We are here to build a just future based on truth and reconciliation. One where British Columbia upholds its constitutional obligations,” said Chief Shana Thomas, also known as Laxele’wuts’aat, of the Lyackson First Nation, in a statement.
The Cowichan Tribes, also known as Quw’utsun, have taken issue with the claim by the City of Richmond, and taken up by Premier David Eby, that private landholders were prevented from being given notice of the legal case.
