Antonio Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General, voiced deep concern over the deteriorating situation in Sudan on Monday, emphasizing the urgent need for secure delivery of humanitarian aid in the region.
According to a UN spokesperson, Guterres condemned reported violations of international humanitarian law, including indiscriminate attacks on civilians and infrastructure, as well as gender-based violence and ethnically motivated aggression.
Guterres also highlighted that external meddling in Sudan's affairs was impeding the path to peace, calling for concerted global efforts to address the crisis effectively.
