LANCASTER, Pa. —
A correctional officer at a South Central Pennsylvania prison was honored for their heroic actions in saving a choking child on Sept. 14.
A person arrived at Lancaster County Prison with a child who was choking on an unknown object, prompting Officer Jaiden Droege to act swiftly and successfully remove the object.
"The county says Officer Droege's swift response is a powerful example of the courage and decisiveness all staff members at Lancaster County should emulate," the county said.
The officer was recognized with the county's Star Performer Award at Wednesday's commissioners meeting.
