MONROEVILLE, Pa. —
A western Pennsylvania school district is setting the record straight after a photo circulated Monday, allegedly showing what students went back to following a plumbing issue on Friday.
Gateway School District administrators said students were abruptly dismissed Friday morning after a sewer line malfunctioned at the high school, causing a horrendous odor to travel through the school. Advertisement
In a statement to Pittsburgh's Action News 4, they said "maintenance quickly remedied the issue by cleaning out the blockage with a sewer snake, and then plumbing high volume of water through the lines."
Following the incident, a new photo related to the incident made its rounds through the school, which the district said is fake and was made by artificial intelligence.
