Saguaro High School history teacher Ashley Crose has a long list of accomplishments on his resume.
For starters, he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the field of education from Northern Arizona University.
He created a Holocaust and genocide studies course at Saguaro in 2021 and was named the 2024 Arizona History Teacher of the Year by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History for his lesson plan about Native American boarding schools that he teaches in that class.
“That was a pretty cool experience,” Crose said. “They sent me to Gettysburg College over the summer. I got to study at Gettysburg College and learn about different stuff. We got to tour the battlefield, and I got to meet the other teacher’s of the year from across the nation.”
