PICKENS, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Pickens Police Department reports a daycare employee was arrested on Friday after a child was hit by a toy.

Officers said Megan Patterson was employed at the daycare of the Pickens Presbyterian Church.

Patterson tossed a toy across the room, and it hit a child, according to police.

She was charged with unlawful conduct towards a child/child neglect, officials said.

Police report they are investigating the reason why the toy was thrown.

Patterson was released on a $2125 bond, officials said.

The Department of Social Services is assisting in the investigation.
