GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks School District is nearly $1.2 million in deficit in the first three months of the 2025-2026 budget, but the district's business manager said it's not a cause for additional budgetary concern.
During a Monday School Board meeting, Business Manager Brandon Baumbach presented board members with the general fund financial statement for July 1 through Sept. 30. In these three months, total general fund revenues were $16,315,956 and total general fund expenditures were $17,494,864. This resulted in $1,178,908 in expenses over revenue.
Despite the $1.2 million deficit, Baumbach said in a following interview with the Herald that the current difference between expenses and revenue is common this time of the year.
