But how many retirees have an adviser? Are there even enough to go around?

The short answer to these questions is that most retirees do not seek advice, and that there are not enough advisers to go around if they did. According to Rainmaker, since a peak of 26,500 in 2019, the number of advisers in the financial planning industry has declined by approximately 38 per cent as of 2022.
