ROYAL OAK, MI – An 83-year-old man died after he was stabbed in a Royal Oak home last week.
Police responded to the stabbing at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in the 4300 block of Sheridan Drive, according to a news release from the Royal Oak Police Department.
Responding officers found a 35-year-old woman with blood on her hands, who ran from police but was detained after a brief pursuit.
Police entered the home and found an 83-year-old man in the basement who was unresponsive with multiple stab wounds. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to the release.
Police said the suspect is known to both the 83-year-old victim and the owner of the home. The suspect was reportedly a guest in the home at the time of the stabbing.
