Adelaide has made an exciting leap towards enhancing its international connectivity with the arrival of the first-ever direct flight from Christchurch, New Zealand. This historical event took place last night, initiating a direct link between Adelaide and its sister city, Christchurch, a relationship established in 1972.

This new route operated by Air New Zealand began on October 27th and marks the beginning of a seasonal service which will run twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays until March 27th, 2026. Utilising a narrow body Airbus A320/321 neo jet, approximately 15,000 seats will be available over the season.
