EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Advocates are urging drivers to continue to look out for motorcyclists even as the riding season comes to a close.
Rhode Island Motorcycle Association President Paul Bond told 12 News motorcycle riders are trying to get in their last few rides before the winter.
"They're out right now enjoying [the weather]," Bond explained. "It's in the 50s ... and sunny in most cases, so it's very enjoyable to ride when it's not too hot."
There were two deadly motorcycle crashes over the weekend — one in Waterford, Connecticut, that claimed the life of a 55-year-old Westerly man and another in Acushnet, Massachusetts that killed a 27-year-old man.
Bond said these tragedies should serve as an important reminder for not only drivers, but also motorcyclists everywhere.
