CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Virginia Film Festival was this past weekend and had a record-breaking turnout.
"It was an extraordinary week of screenings and events at this year's 38th annual Virginia Film Festival. We actually broke a box record on Saturday morning and still had two more full days of screenings. Since the festival wrapped up last night around 10 p.m. we have finalized our numbers and we hope to come out with a press release in about two days but an extraordinary year, our response from our community was just amazing. Tremendous energy, buzz, people loving the screenings and our guest artists coming in as well," said Jody Kielbasa, the executive director of the Virginia Film Festival.
