CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - WITN rode alongside the Craven and Carteret County sheriff’s offices for a joint-county drug raid near Newport.
The raid happened around 7:30 a.m. Monday at a trailer park off Mann Boulevard.
There, deputies, K-9 units, and undercover investigators raided the trailer, where two people were arrested and charged with allegedly selling drugs.
One Craven County resident who works in Newport, near where the raid took place, said it’s reassuring to hear.
“I mean, the fact that they took care of it and are on top of that type of thing, with it being so close, is reassuring,” Emmalee Troke said.
The joint drug raid is part of Craven County Sheriff Chip Hughes’ and Carteret County Sheriff Asa Buck’s effort to combat drug trafficking in the neighboring counties.
