EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Members of the legal community and the public gathered on Monday, Oct. 27, in Downtown El Paso to attend the annual Red Mass.
Celebrated by Bishop Mark J. Seitz, the mass was held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at the St. Patrick Cathedral.
The centuries-old tradition in the Catholic church is offered for judges, lawyers, and government officials of all faiths, "seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit for all who work in the pursuit of justice and provides a moment of reflection on the power, responsibility, and moral dimension of the legal profession," read a news release by the Diocese of El Paso.
