MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — As the game progressed last Saturday, West Virginia quarterback Scotty Fox Jr. began to display more traits the Mountaineer coaching staff desires to see from the true freshman in what marked his second career start and first at home.

It wasn’t enough to prevent a 23-17 loss to TCU, but Fox’s performance did offer something the Mountaineers haven’t had much of since the start of Big 12 Conference play — hope.

Fox completed 28-of-41 passes for 301 yards with two touchdowns without a turnover. The completions, attempts and yards were all season highs for the Mountaineers.
