SPRINGFIELD — Mayor Domenic J. Sarno wrapped up two days of contentious testimony in an ongoing civil trial after his former longtime aide sued him for wrongful termination and retaliation.
Darryl Moss, a Sarno employee for 12 years, was fired five years ago at the peak of the Black Lives Matter movement. He filed a lawsuit in 2022, seeking $2 million in damages and attorneys’ fees.
Moss was fired over social media posts referencing the racial unrest in the country that was ignited by the murder by George Floyd, a Black man killed by police in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on May 26, 2020.
