BLOOMFIELD HILLS — Ryan Kesler, a former center for the Vancouver Canucks, faces two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct in Michigan. The 41-year-old was arraigned via Zoom on Monday in Bloomfield Hills District Court, where he pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charges.
The alleged incidents took place on January 1 in Orchard Lake, Michigan. Following the arraignment, the court set bond at $50,000, requiring a 10 percent deposit. Kesler is prohibited from leaving Michigan without court approval and must attend all scheduled hearings.
A probable-cause conference is scheduled for November 6, with a preliminary examination to follow on November 13.
Kesler, a native of Livonia, Michigan, played for the Vancouver Canucks from 2003 to 2014. He was traded to the Anaheim Ducks, where he continued his career until retiring in 2019. Kesler represented the United States in the Olympics in 2010 and 2014. He won the Frank J. Selke Trophy in 2011, awarded to the NHL’s top defensive forward, and was part of the Canucks team that reached the Stanley Cup final that same year.
