LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Louisville football secured bowl eligibility with a win over Boston College last weekend, but the Cardinals will look to continue their winning ways with hopes of making the College Football Playoff still alive.

The Cardinals open as 10.5-point favorites over the Hokies, who just picked up their third win of the season over Cal.

Historically, the Cardinals have not fared well against Virginia Tech, with Hokies boasting a 6-3 record when playing Louisville. The two teams last met in 2023, which resulted in a 34-3 Louisville win. Virginia Tech won the previous two matchups in 2020 and 2005 by double-digits, and Louisville has never beaten the Hokies on their home field.
