Roy Gesford has known this group of Lower Dauphin girls soccer players were special since middle school.
He remembers coaching this senior class back in eighth grade, leading them to an unbeaten season.
So to the first-year Falcons high school head coach, the idea that this group could, for the third time in four seasons, punch a ticket to a district title game despite some graduations and injuries, was always part of the plan.
That plan became a reality on Monday night, as Gesford’s Falcons defeated Donegal 1-0 in Hummelstown to advance to the District 3 3A title game on Thursday and punching a PIAA 3A playoff ticket.
