JAMMU, Oct 27: A House Committee set up by Speaker Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather to examine revision of salary and allowances of the MLAs and pensionary benefits to ex-legislators has recommended doubling the amount paid per month to MLAs from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh, substantial hike in pension, increasing housing loan from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 75 lakh and car advance from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.
The Panel has also recommended that necessary amendments be made to increase salaries of the Chief Minister, Speaker, Ministers and the Leader of Opposition.
The Committee proposed that Salaries and Allowances of Members of the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature Act, 1960 be amended to increase salary of the legislators from Rs 60,000 to Rs 80,000 and, in addition, they be paid Const
